Varied activities in nursing care - part 1

A common problem in nursing is the varied design of everyday life. To offer a constantly changing daily program can be very difficult for many in the long run. In our blog series „Varied activities in nursing care“, we try to put together some creative ideas and thus help you with your next day’s planning a little.

 

Puzzle:

You can easily design a puzzle yourself in a previous program. This creates even more variety for the residents and receives a puzzle, which you can use again and again. Through the self-design of the puzzle can be decided individually how big the individual parts should be designed.

 

To sing:

Singing is one of the most popular occupations in geriatric care. Especially in the treatment of people with dementia, the music gets an ever-increasing role. Music brings people together and reminds of days long gone.

 

Knead:

The possibilities of creating things with clay are endless. Be it figures or pots, in the selection of motives nothing stands in the way of creativity. Kneading also improves the locals‘ motor skills.

 

Animals:

To older people have a very special relationship to animals. They give you affection and provide variety. More and more nursing homes are working together with trained animals several times a week. Used properly, this collaboration can be a great experience for everyone involved.

 

Crossword:

In addition to board games, there are many more ways to activate the mind and brain jogging. Crossword puzzles or sudokus are ideal for the daily occupation of the residents. Here you can excellently think in a larger round and solve the puzzle together. Through various levels of difficulty, this activity becomes a real challenge for all concerned.
