Fritz Currle wouldn’t even dream of leaving his vineyard to his daughters alone. The 73-year-old is still actively involved in this family business, which dates back to the year 1625. The family vineyard is now in the third generation. Christa Currle manages the vineyard, while her sister Annette, who is two years older, runs the “DREIMÄDELSHAUS” restaurant, which they opened in 1974. The Currles run the tavern as well as the “Weindorf” wine villages in Stuttgart and Hamburg, which their father Fritz has made a family matter, together. Hamburg has him to thank for the vineyard beside the port, which he still nurtures and fosters to the present day and is his greatest treasure. The head of the Currles family is thrilled about the 15 liters of Hamburg wine that the vineyard produces each year. Another passion of his is schnapps distilling and he is known particularly for his “Willi” pear schnapps.
