42 years. That’s how long I’ve worked at wissner-bosserhoff, in fact my entire professional life. Before that, I even worked here as a student during my vacations. In such a long time, I have experienced a lot.
I started as an assembler before becoming team leader for the night cabinet department and then for external assembly. Today, I’m in charge of the shipping department, which is why I’m responsible for transport logistics for the entire company, as well as for scheduling external assemblers and forwarders, and for coordinating transport and assembly with our customers.
Many people will not even remember, but in 1985 we moved our production halls from Werl to Wickede (Ruhr). That was a special experience for me, which I remember very well. I also always enjoyed attending our summer parties and New Year’s receptions.
My personal impression is that wissner-bosserhoff has always stood behind its employees and that the company has stood up for us. In the past, there have also been bad times for us, and I would like to emphasize here that our shareholders have also relied on us in this phase. I am very grateful to them for this!
But now something personal about me. I live in beautiful Werl. My wife and I have two children and meanwhile also a beautiful grandchild, which makes me a happy, proud grandfather. In my free time I like to go walking and on vacation I love to hike in the mountains. December 31, 2021 will be my official last day of work. After that, I will make it my goal to enjoy my life as I have in the past. I want to use my retirement to travel around and get to know beautiful Spain better.

Since I will be starting my retirement very soon, I would also like to use this post to thank all my colleagues. During my long time here at wissner-bosserhoff, I have always appreciated the strong cohesion among colleagues, but also between the different departments. When it came to solving problems to satisfy our customers, I could always count on smooth interaction with colleagues from production, purchasing and sales.
Without the constant, great support of my exceptional teammates, I would never have been able to complete all my tasks. Together, we have found a solution to every problem, because each and every one of you can always be relied upon. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and I will miss working with you! I wish you all that you will go to work with joy and motivation in the future and that you will all stay healthy and satisfied.
